The Peak District: a Reachable Location from Manchester and Sheffield

The Peak District is a perfect getaway from the pressures and tensions of metropolitan living. If you are from Manchester or Sheffield, it’s accessible within an hour by car or train and a fantastic location for a one or two day break, or even longer. If you’re travelling from further afield, we would say it’s better if you stay five or six days since there’s a great deal to get up to in the Peak District.

A lot of holiday makers affiliate the Peak area with summer holidays, but it’s picturesque in all seasons, and nowhere are the four seasons more emphasised than in the Peak District.

As highlighted previously, there is a good deal one can do in the Peak area. The picturesque scenes entice people out of their cottages and onto long walks, and there’s a good deal of trails to walk – as many as thirty well marked routes.

To add to that, there’s also a good deal of sites to go fishing in and around the Peak District, particularly Ladybower. If you’re not into physical activities, venture to Buxton for something to eat in one of their many pubs, and a walk in their pavilion gardens, or the opera. Not to forget the villages in the Hope Valley which are lovely.

How can one book accommodation in the Peak area? We advise renting cottages in the Peak District. That way you have the seclusion of your own place, and the opportunity to unwind and relax with your friends and family in a cozy surrounding. The best method to find cottages is to use the internet. Use a search keyphrase such as “places to stay in the Peak District” and you are certain to find a lot of potential accommodation choices.
